Chris and Kim Ahrens
We are so blessed to have a long history with many of our supporters. One friend who goes back with some of the longest is Kim, and her husband, Chris. Kim and I (Crystal) went to Jr. High together, and had frequent girls nights together through High School. Some of my fondest memories are of us doing our homework together through the wee hours of the morning, and of singing together on stage and in the car. Through college we stayed in touch and became long distance prayer partners. Kim was someone I knew was faithfully praying for me and it gave me courage to continue following the Lord and making right decisions. She always has an uplifting word of encouragement. After college we were roommates for the 7 months before Matt and I got married. It was a precious time in our friendship as we saw each others lives in an upclose and personal way that only living together can bring. Our friendship deepened, was tested, and proved strong. Kim was one of my bridesmaids and I cherish that she was there for that day, and all the planning!
Over the last three years she has continued to be faithful in prayer for us and our ministry. Last November Kim married the love of her life, Chris Ahrens. And I can say I couldn't be more thrilled for any couple. God had an incredible plan to bring them together. They were good friends all the way through college and Chris was a faithful and true friend to her. In the times I got to spend with him I really grew to respect him and he became one of my favorites of Kim's college friends. I'm so thankful to God for bringing them together as a husband and wife. We will pray for their marriage in the same way we know they pray for us.
Just a couple months into their marriage, these newlyweds called to let us know they had decided they really want to honor God with their money and want to do that by supporting us monthly. Chris and Kim, your friendship means so much to us and we want to thank you for being a part of our lives and ministry through joining our support team at home. Thank you for your love, prayers and sacrifices you are making to continue making it possible for us to be here. Your gifts teach us more and more about God's faithfulness in providing for our needs and the needs of those we love here in Uganda. We love you!
