COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Our neighborhood is a diverse mix of people from differnt economic standards, religions and tribes (there is no zoning in Uganda). As we purchased the land and built our home during the first year on the field, we realized that our house centers in the middle of a divide. On one side our community is Christian, the other side is Muslim. We are the bridge in the middle. And it is our passion to share the love of Christ in our commmunity to see individuals come to know the Lord.

Crystal is mentoring a young lady, Sophie, who has come to Christ from a Muslim family. A Saturday Bible class for kids has developed next door. Children play in our front yard every day and we are continuing to build more relationships with families around us. We joined a new house church plant with friends in our community and led worship there. We were able to bring electricity into our community for the first time ever. After two years of work and financing, we gave electricity as a gift to our neighbors for Christmas in 2008 and pray that the Light of the World will also fill their homes and hearts. We continue to use our home as a haven of hope for abandoned babies in our region. It has built respected relationships with the hospital staff, police and community.

Over the last six years, we have seen God work powerfully to raise a fire that is burning in our community. Pray that God will continue to open up more opportunities to share the good news of Jesus Christ bodly in love.
