Building the Garden
A garden is a beautiful thing. They are everywhere in Uganda: corn, beans, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, and carrots. I remember helping my mom plant one in Arizona as a child. As you work in a garden you realize that you do not make the plants grow, God does. But it is your responsibility to prepare the garden to be as fruitful as possible. You build a good environment for the best growth and the greatest harvest.
ABIDE is a life garden. It creates an environment that fertilizes opportunities for God to transform and grow students. We strive to build an atmosphere that places Christ at the center and calls everyone to see, know, love and serve Him. The residential home is a vital component of the program. It is the soil that nurtures deep relationships among the students and staff to sharpen one another in the daily life of following Christ and displaying the beauty of His character. It cultivates a freedom to encounter God through the devotions, classes, challenge activities and mentorship at the home. The community surrounding the home becomes a network of ministry outreach as well as family support. This is a garden of transformation. We plant new students each year and watch God grow them through the six month season at the ABIDE house. The harvest at the end is indescribable. It multiplies into communities, schools, work places and churches. Staff and students all testify that God is using ABIDE to shape individuals who are leading Uganda into greater development on the foundation of Jesus Christ. It is the desire of ABIDE to produce a harvest of young men each year who are passionately equipped to multiply. Each year is another step of growth. In January 2011, we opened a second ABIDE House (rented) in Kabale to increase our capacity of transformation. We graduated 17 students this July, the largest so far, and now have 40 alumni serving Christ and their communities throughout the world. Each of them has a different story and a bright future. Many have gone on to universities for further education; others are now entering the workforce in the world to build a young, vibrant nation*. We are now in process of buying land and building the second ABIDE house of our own. Honestly, we need your help to build this new home/garden. $50,000 will cover the costs of: 1. Buying land in Kabale $15,000 2. Constructing the ABIDE house $20,000 3. Operating the program for the next full year $15,000 The goal is to create more awareness and to call investors into the work of ABIDE by raising $50,000 by January 2012. Please partner with us now by: 1. Praying for the program 2. Sharing about ABIDE in your spheres of life 3. Fulfilling the financial goal by January 2012. Let’s join together to build a home. One seed can reap an amazing harvest. Help us plant those seeds by building the garden. Your investment will have a great impact among the students, the community and the entire nation. You can start it today! Visit the Juna Amagara website and donate any amount to ABIDE HERE! Thank you for your partnership and support. *Uganda is the youngest nation in the world with half the population 15 years and under | |
