ABIDE - Amagara Bible Institute of Discipleship & Evangelism ABIDE is a non-denominational Christian leadership training program in Mbarara, Uganda designed to meet the growing needs of youth who have graduated from secondary school. Each year new students from Juna Amagara Ministries are invited to join a six month course of Christian education, leadership development and life skills training. They live and study together in a community house and serve throughout the country. Qualified staff lead the ABIDE program and work within secondary schools to preach the gospel, disciple JAM children and enroll selected students for the next year. The purpose of ABIDE is to form students in Christian faith, character and leadership by EQUIPPING them in studying and applying God’s Word, MENTORING them in life decisions and SENDING them to serve Christ and others in their communities.     We opened the first ABIDE program April 1st, 2008 with five Ugandan students and two US interns. We graduated them in August as a powerful team of men equipped with the passion and skills to serve Christ where ever they go in life. They are now in University, Bible schools, starting small businesses and continuing to serve in their local churches. ABIDE was a total success. The second round of high school graduates are currently being selected and invited to join the next year's six month program to seek God, develop leadership skills and engage in ministry. It includes outdoor adventures, challenge course and team building activities, school placement, classroom study and supervised ministry outreach. "My passion is to see Christ transform students. And I feel that this is the most fulfilling and effective ministry I have ever had in Uganda. It is wonderful to have begun this program of equipping students in Christ to do the work of God in all aspects of life (Eph 4:16).
